The researchers looked at two types of popper designs: spherical and cubic. They chose the cube, which also had LEDs embedded in it to create a light source for tracking by the orbiter.

There are three main methods known for measuring the gravity of small bodies – radar tomography, seismic imaging and gravimetry. Each of these methods has drawbacks that can be overcome by using a swarm of probes.
