Hackers have found a way to track Apple smartphone owners through third-party keyboards. This is reported by the publication PhoneArena.
Experts from the British company Certo Software learnt about the problem. The experts found out that cybercriminals sold malicious applications to users who wanted to spy on their friends, acquaintances or other people. The programmes allowed a third-party keyboard to be installed on the iPhone, which saved all the text data entered and sent it to interested parties.
Experts noted that Apple usually does not allow such applications into the App Store. That’s why attackers install software via TestFlight, a service for developers designed to test applications without requiring their placement in the App Store. The service costs $30, or about 2.7 thousand rubles.
